The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older have an annual mammogram, and an annual clinical breast examination performed by a health care professional. Women ages 20–39 should have a clinical breast exam at least every three years. All women should be familiar with their breasts so that they can notice changes and report them to their doctor without delay. For more information about breast cancer, call 1.800.227.2345 or visit the American Cancer Society online at cancer.org
